The Boarding Kennels

The kennels and cattery are built to the latest regulations and are kept meticulously clean. The dogs are fed twice a day (or to the owners requirements) and there is a wide variety of food available.

At least four times a day all the dogs are given free running exercise in one of our large grass paddocks. Older dogs are taken for a gentle stroll at their own pace down our lane.

The Cattery

Our purpose built cattery enables your cat to have a highly comfortable stay. Each pen has both an inside and an outside section allowing your cat to wander in and out freely. Toys are provided for the more playful cat, and for the less energetic cat each pen has its own cat bed complete with heat pads thus making sure that your cat is kept snug and comfortable at all times.

Special diets and grooming are also available for our feline friends as well as our own shop where you can purchase a wide range of pet goods, from dog and cat food to natural remedy ointments. At Dutton Doghouse we have our very own 'Dutton Dogfood' for sale which has been specially prepared for working dogs. For more details and prices give us a call.

Hydrotherapy Centre For Dogs At Dutton Doghouse (As seen on BBC1 'Vets in practice')

It has been known for centuries that the benefits of water for both health and fitness cannot be surpassed, and that swimming exercises every muscle of the anatomy. Hydrotherapy can be used in both the treatment of and rehabilitation of:

Arthritis ArthritisHydrotherapy For Dogs Magnetic Pulse Therapy
Hip And Elbow Dysplasia Hip & elbow dysplasia
Paralysis Paralysis
Swelling And Stifness Swelling & stiffness
Relaxation Promotion of relaxation
Veterinary Treatments And many more veterinary forms of treatment

Hydrotherapy is fast becoming one of the most popular forms of treatment.

Your dog will be able to swim in a warm pool and have their back gently massaged whilst they swim. The virtual weightlessness of your dog whilst it is swimming ensures that no strain is placed upon their joints. This means that the recovery time for your pet is greatly reduced.

Tests on endurance dogs have sparked a positive reaction from vets and many other people from the dog world. It seems everybody wants to swim with their dog, be it to aid its recovery from a serious injury, or from post operative lameness. Whippets and greyhounds also use hydrotherapy as part of their training. Many people swim with their dogs purely to improve the quality of their dogs life. Swimming is also an effective way of ensuring gradual, long term weight loss, especially when coupled with a healthy, well balanced eating plan.

For veterinary surgeons it is an excellent service to offer your clients. When normal exercise could be too strenuous, hydrotherapy could be just the answer. Patients coming to our hydrotherapy centre can, if required, board whilst receiving their treatment to save their owners time and traveling expenses.

After each hydrotherapy session, many dogs will also greatly benefit from some magnetic pulse therapy. This compliments the swimming by giving your dog an all over magnetic massage, improving circulation and sense of well being. Your dog can also spend some time in our special canine jacuzzi. This treatment is especially beneficial for the more elderly dog and as a relaxation therapy. The soothing jets allow your dog to relax and free those stiff joints and aching muscles.

In addition to this we are happy to provide help and advise on all pet problems, just give us a call.
